Archive Exhibition 2013

Archive Exhibition 2013

The 2013 Archive Exhibition was held on 11th and 12th May. The main theme for the exhibition was “Down Your Street” and featured archive photographs and related historical information about the streets and terraces in Carleton. The featured display was in the Village Hall, but the venues again included St Mary’s Church and the Carleton (Endowed) C. E. School. Footage of Carleton in the 1970s was shown in the Church which was also the location for a small display on Carleton families and an advice point for people carrying out family research on relatives from Carleton run by the History Research Group. Refreshments were also served in the Church and proved to be very popular. The school featured a display of classroom photographs and was also the venue for viewing recorded memories from Carleton residents and the DVD on the Carleton jubilee celebrations.

Over 200 people visited the exhibition over the 2 days, and again the exhibition was well received.
